NCEL annually rewards student interns studying for a career in our electrical industry. Interns who qualify are eligible for a $2,000 education bonus upon completion of their internship at an NCEL member company in the Upper Midwest (MN, SD, ND, Western WI). Applications are available in the spring of every calendar year.
NCEL Internship Drawing Rules & Criteria:
Any student/intern who has completed or currently working at an NCEL member company (in our Upper Midwest service territory) may apply for an NCEL Internship.
the student/intern must be attending or enrolled in an accredited post secondary institution studying for a technical career in the electrical industry;
the student/intern must be on track for working at least 360 hours of internship work at an NCEL member company (in our Upper Midwest service territory) prior to applying for the internship; and
only undergraduate students may submit applications for the NCEL Internship.
Member mentors can submit a student's Internship application to NCEL at any time throughout the calendar year, with an annual application deadline of June 28th, 2024. All applications must be in by 4:00 PM to be eligible for the drawing.
In the event that there are fewer than 20 internship applications received, each intern will receive a $2,000 award, thus eliminating the need for the random drawing.
There is no limit to the number of internship applications submitted from each company.
Since 1994, NCEL has awarded $465,500 to 300 interns. See a list of recent winners here.
