The electrical industry is facing one of the most unique sets of recruiting challenges in its history. STARTING AN INTERNSHIP:
Here are some resources if you are thinking about starting an internship at your company:
MENTORING:
An industry best practice is to pair each intern with a mentor at your company, which means they can give feedback and promote professional and personal growth. Best to pair an intern based off discipline, location and with someone that can dedicate the time to assisting the intern.
HIRING INTERNS:
Hiring interns are a great way to recruit new, full-time employees. Most of the time interns are hired on after their internship is complete.
RECRUITING:
Attending career fairs is one of the best ways to find interns, but referrals are a good tool as well. Most internships are posted online in hopes of catching some applicants. If you are interested in promoting your open internship position? Post it on our job board!
Don’t forget, students may be eligible for tuition assistance via NCEL's annual internship and/or scholarship programs.
