NCEL Internship Application
NCEL Internship Program applications must be complete, in one package, and received before June 28, 2024 to be eligible. Intern must have a Mentor at an NCEL member company.

Application Qualifications:
- Intern must currently attend or be enrolled as an undergraduate at an accredited post-secondary school, studying for a technical career directly leading into the electrical industry.
- Intern must be currently working towards completing at least 360 hours of work within a 12-month period, at an NCEL member company.
- NCEL’s Internship Program is available through NCEL member firms with locations in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Western Wisconsin only. Interns working at locations outside our NCEL membership service territory cannot apply – NO EXCEPTIONS!
- All applicants will be notified of the results shortly after the random drawing of winners. Winners will be announced on our website and E-newsletter. Internship checks are made payable to the school, in the winners’ name and may be mailed to the member mentor or the intern as indicated on their internship application.
- There is no limit to the number of Internship applications submitted from each NCEL member company in the calendar year.
Required Documentation for Application:
- Completed Application Form and all required documentation submitted to NCEL before June 28, 2024.
- Intern to write a 500-word essay describing their internship experience at the NCEL member firm, the work you performed, and how your intern experience correlates to your studies leading to a career in the electrical industry.
- Mentor must submit a letter of Completion/Verification on corporate letterhead, conveying the intern’s job description, the intern’s work performed, and confirmation that 360 hours of work will be completed at the NCEL member firm in a 12-month period.
- Company must be a current corporate member of North Central Electrical League, in our Upper Midwest electrical industry service territory in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Western Wisconsin.
