NCEL is the essential regional electrical industry trade association. We provide a variety of education and networking services for our industry. NCEL has served the Upper Midwest Electrical Industry since 1936. NCEL is a non-profit trade association of corporate and individual members ~ dedicated to fostering a thriving community of electrical industry professionals and forums where industry peers can share ideas, techniques and programs to better serve the industry and its customers.
Who We Serve: The NCEL membership footprint extends from the western Dakotas, east through Wisconsin, from Canada to the north, and to the border of Iowa in the south. Our primary service area footprint is comprised of four mid-western states: Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Members are of all types, including: investor-owned utilities, rural electric cooperatives, municipal utilities, generation and transmission cooperatives, manufacturers, representatives, distributors, engineers, contractors, inspectors, other trade associations, tech schools and universities are members of NCEL.
What We Do: NCEL provides educational and peer development activities in a variety of industry sectors -- engaging the entire Upper Midwest Electrical Industry. NCEL's Affiliate groups have their own members only events and workshops that are industry issue focused and technically oriented. NCEL's other programs reveal new and emerging technologies in the marketplace. In addition, NCEL members enjoy a multifaceted array of traditional association member services, ranging from scholarships, internships, job classifieds, charitable activities, industry news, awards, membership directory & buyer's guides, and the best electrical trade show in North America -- the Upper Midwest Electrical EXPO. All of this is offered in our continued efforts to fulfill our organization's mission.
Our Value Proposition: NCEL is committed to providing quality products and services for our membership at a value price, all while striving to keep our membership dues low. To accomplish both is an ongoing challenge that we have always met. Both event registration fees and dues are low and under premiums being charged in the industry marketplace. We operate on a break-even philosophy, with all revenue, both dues and registration fees, going to pay expenses.
How We Do Business: NCEL services are driven by the ongoing needs of our members. Our goal is to deliver substantial value while balancing NCEL resources. Our board leadership continually evaluates the best methods for reaching a diverse membership in a large coverage area. NCEL works diligently to understand and prioritize the vast needs of our entire membership base. Members' suggestions are important to our success through various input venues. Meeting our member needs, providing great value, and balancing resources are the hallmarks that set NCEL above our competition.
Our Values: NCEL is a unique association bringing together many different types of companies. The long-standing tradition of NCEL encourages open-sharing amongst all these sectors, believing that ultimately all will benefit from information sharing in a positive way.
